Honoring your Feelings and Staying on a Positive Path
Today I woke up and the first thought that came to my mind was that my stomach was still bloated. I have had SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) now for about 2 years, and I have tried multiple protocols, multiple doctors, diets, lifestyle modifications. You name it, I have tried it.
I immediately could feel the anger and frustration inside me start to bubble up. Then the guilt came up, scanning my consciousness for what I could have done to have caused this ‘flare-up’. What else can I do to make this go away? What am I missing? How has all the hours of research and trials still left me in this place?!
I then stopped myself and took a breath. Most of the time I stop myself and I try and stay positive. Try and pick out the improvements and how far I HAVE come.
But today I felt it was time to honor my feelings. To not just brush them aside, but to dive in.
I felt like I needed to just let it all out – all the feelings, including the negative ones
So I sat and I wrote out how upset and angry I felt that I am still in this place. Stuck in this place of continuing to have SIBO. That I pretty much dedicate my life to helping people heal on different levels, and I am still not where I want it to be. How I have a wedding coming up that I want to feel amazing for, but my body has its own agenda. How it doesn’t feel fair, how I asked for guidance, and I don’t see a clear path.
And I just sat with it. The whole world of it.
And then I decided to let it go because really that is all I can do.
Now that it is all on the table, I can choose to stay in that conversation and keep myself in a disempowered state about how hard it is.
Or I can choose to step out of that world spinning around me and stay in an empowered positive state that I get to create, while I continue to walk forward.
AND I will remember that is it OK to honor my feelings as I go too
